The FAA’s Part 5 rule extends SMS beyond the airlines. The FAA Ready SMS module covers the four components (safety policy, safety risk management, safety assurance and safety promotion) with hazard reporting, risk assessment, corrective and preventive action using the 8D method, and an SMS Manual generated from your own records.
